Pre-Concert Dinners

Join the Schwob School of Music for three amazing concerts this spring, all preceded by dinners at the Chattahoochee River Club. Pre-Concert dinners are on January 29th, February 21st, and April 18th at 5:30 pm. For reservations, please contact Laura Saliba at 706-649-1913.

Fourteenth Annual CSU Guitar Competition & Symposium

The CSU Guitar Symposium is an annual event bringing together guitarists from around the world for education and artistic stimulation. This two-day festival consists of guest artist concerts, masterclasses, lectures, and an international competition with divisions for middle school through professional levels. Kaleidoscope 2013

The Kaleidoscope Concert is an extraordinary musical event in Bill Heard Theatre, RiverCenter, featuring students and faculty from Columbus State University's Schwob School of Music. A musical kaleidoscope, the concert features over 250 musicians, located in different positions throughout the theater, performing a wide range of music styles in a tidy 70-minute package. All of the School's large ensembles participate, as well as a selection of award-winning soloists and chamber ensembles. From steel drums to string orchestra, from jazz to musical theater, from alto saxophones to zithers, there's something for everyone! March 23, 2013; 7:30 pm; Bill Heard Theater at the RiverCenter. Summer 2013

The Eighth Annual English Horn Masterclasses with Carolyn Hove

The Schwob School of Music is proud to be the host of the 8th Annual English Horn Masterclasses with Carolyn Hove. Join us for 5 days of classes in orchestral and solo literature, small group reed-making classes, and tips on choosing equipment and taking orchestral auditions. The week will also include oboe and English horn repair and maintenance classes with Mark Chudnow, our special guest-in-residence. The event will kick-off with Carolyn's recital on Tuesday June 4, 2013 at 7:30 P.M. in the beautiful Legacy Hall. We will conclude our classes with a performers' recital on Saturday evening, the 8th of June at 7:30 P.M. For more information, visit the webpage . June 4 - 8, 2013.

Forty-Second International Trombone Festival

The 42nd International Trombone Festival June 26 - 29, will take place at the Schwob School of Music and is hosted by Dr. Bradley Palmer.
