Dr. Ronald Wirt

Dr. Ronald Wirt, (BA Reed College, MM Juilliard, DMA Manhattan School of Music), serves as Professor of Bassoon and Interim Director of the Schwob School of Music. He has performed in music festivals inNew York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and North Carolina, and with the Atlanta Ballet, Atlanta Opera, and the Atlanta, Savannah, and Alabama Symphonies. He has served as Artistic Director of the Southeastern Music Center and on the faculty of the Georgia Governor's Honors Program. Dr. Wirt has written for Teaching Music magazine, consulted for McGraw-Hill Publishers, and taught computer-based composition for children in a program funded by the National Endowment for the Arts. He performs as Principal Bassoonist of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra.
