Schwob EntranceThe Schwob School of Music of Columbus State University has become one of the leading and fastest-growing university-level music programs in the southeast.
The accomplished artist faculty of the Schwob School of Music serve an internationally diverse student population, and the School’s effect on the cultural life of Columbus is everywhere apparent.  In 2008-09 the Schwob School was awarded the Regents Teaching Excellence Award for Departments and Programs by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.

A unit of the College of Fine and Performing Arts, the Schwob School is housed in an extraordinary facility: RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in downtown Columbus.  This $78 million facility, indicative of the Schwob School’s rise to excellence, includes the finest performance spaces in the city.  Its three superb concert halls enjoy outstanding acoustics and attract large and enthusiastic audiences each year.  Within the building the instructional facility has been rated as among the finest in the country, and offers ample practice and chamber music rooms, recording facilities, classrooms, and faculty studios bustling with musical energy.

Schwob School students take applied music lessons and core music courses from some of the most accomplished faculty in the nation, interact with extraordinary guest artists on a regular basis, and perform in ensembles with other musicians on the undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels.

The Schwob School of Music is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and the Georgia Department of Education.
