Columbus State University's Schwob School of Music was proud to present a week-long residency with the Chicago Symphony's bass trombonist Charlie Vernon. Mr. Vernon's concert on April 5 concluded the residency and marked the beginning of International Trombone Week, April 5-12, 2009. The first half of the concert on April 5 featured Mr. Vernon performing with piano, with his wife Alison (soprano), with the CSU Trombone Octet. After intermission, Mr. Vernon performed Christian Lindberg's "Chick-a-Bone Checkout" with the CSU Philharmonic. Video clips of the performance have been added to this site. |
