In recent years, violinist Boris Abramov established himself as a young promising artist performing as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician worldwid. Mr. Abramov began studying the violin in his native Israel with Stella Zlatkovsky, and later completed his Bachelor (Cum Laude), Master and Artist Diploma degrees under Prof. Sergiu Schwartz at Schwob School of Music, Columbus State University.
A winner of the 2007, 2010 and 2012 Schwob School of Music Concerto Competition, Mr. Abramov has performed as a soloist with the CSU philharmonic Orchestra, as well as with Columbus and Lagrange Symphony and the Jerusalem Chamber Orchestra. In 2008, Mr. Abramov was declared national winner of the MTNA Competition in the United States and in 2009, won a special prize at the Pablo Sarasate International Violin Competition in Spain.
Boris Abramov appeared as a soloist in broadcasts on Israeli radio, performing at the Jerusalem Music Center and also concertizing in France, Belgium, Norway and the United States. He recorded his first CD with his duo partner, acclaimed American guitarist, Chad Ibison.
Mr. Abramov collaborated in numerous chamber music concerts with Schwob School of Music artist faculty including Sergiu Schwartz, Alexander Kobrin, Wendy Warner, Zoran Jakovcic, Lisa Oberlander and Paul Vaillancourt. Recent engagements include performances of the entire Beethoven Sonatas cycle with Pianist Tzu-yi Chen in recitals throughout Georgia and Alabama, and solo performances with the Brevard, Verde Valley, and Columbus Symphony Orchestras.
In May 2014, Mr. Abramov was appointed principal second violinist of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and Adjunct Professor of Violin at Schwob School of Music, Columbus State University.
