Mrs. Kimberly Cone

Kimberly Cone is not only a solo artist and performer but currently enjoys her role as a teacher of singing. Ms. Cone has been employed as an Adjunct of Professor of Voice at Columbus State University's Schwob School of Music since August 2005 where she serves as an instructor for both private studio and class voice.
Professor Cone obtained her Masters Degree in Vocal Performance from Mannes College of Music in New York City and her undergraduate degree in Music Education from the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY. She has studied voice with Ellen Chickering, Joanna Levy, Marian Thompson, and Barbara Hann. She has coached extensively with Joan Dormemann of the Metropolitan Opera and Benton Hess while living in NY City. She has also sung for Haaken Haakegaard, Ellie Ameling, Mignon Dunn, Sherrill Milnes, and Eleanor Steber. Ms. Cone attended the first International Institute of Vocal Arts, which is now known as The International Opera Program of Israel.
Since being on staff at Schwob, Professor Cone has had several students win awards and recognition for their singing at annual Georgia and Regional NATS competitions. Ms. Cone also maintains a studio of private students ages 14 and up who have also earned recognition at NATS and other singing events.
Professor Cone is an active performer in and around Columbus. She serves as musical director and conductor Columbus's Family Theatre and is the Associate Minister of Music for Third Day Baptist Church in Columbus where she coordinates and leads music and is often heard as a soloist.
Professor Cone enjoys singing and performing in both classical and musical theater styles. She has an extensive background in teaching and performing in the genre of musical theater. Before moving to Columbus, Ms. Cone performed in NY City, McHaydn Summer Stock and in Connecticut in various opera, operetta and musical theater productions in both lead and supporting roles.
Ms. Cone is a member of NATS, Georgia NATS, Georgia MENC and MTNA.
