Born in Guangzhou, China, pianist Beibei Lin grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and is a doctoral candidate in Piano Performance at Florida State University, studying under Dr. Heidi Louise Williams. She is Lecturer of Keyboard at the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University.
Ms. Lin has performed in numerous masterclasses, including those with Ann Schein, The Fischer Duo, Caroline Hong, Eugene Alcalay, Marina Lomazov, Jura Margulis, Christopher Harding, Russell Hirschfield, David Kalhous, and Donna Lee. She has also received coaching from Nina Lee, cellist of the Brentano String Quartet.
She debuted as a soloist with the MasterWorks Festival Orchestra at age seventeen, performing Prokofiev's First Piano Concerto. She worked as a teaching assistant in collaborative piano at the Brevard Music Festival summer of 2011, as lecturer for the 2013 FSU Summer Piano Institute, and as applied piano instructor for the 2014 FSU Summer Piano Camp. She was also recently the recipient of a scholarship from the Tallahassee Music Guild.
Prior to her current appointment at CSU, Ms. Lin served as a Graduate Assistant in the FSU Piano Pedagogy Program from 2010 - 2014. She completed her Masters of Music in Piano Pedagogy and Performance at The Florida State University in April 2012. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Arizona State University where she studied with Mr. Walter Cosand and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Additional studies were completed at the Interlochen Arts Camp (Dr. William Chapman Nyaho) and Brevard Music Festival (Mrs. Sandra Wright Shen and Dr. Douglas Weeks).
